Chris DeLizza has been working in the entertainment industry since he was in High School. Starting at Cypress Bay High School in Weston Florida, Chris helped supervise the Lightning Theatre for school activities, community events, and outside concerts and plays. He found his strength in Rigging while attending DePaul University in Chicago and during an internship with Cirque Du Soleil's "O" he found his true passion for Acrobatic Rigging. Since then he has traveled the world setting up large shows.
As part of his passion, Chris has attended many courses to expand his knowledge through the Rigging and Entertainment fields.
From Chicago to China and back around again! Here are some of the shows Chris has been a part of.
Chris provided support for the acceptance and testing of the automation system, programming of the 81 traversing winches, and leading the acrobatic rigging crew.
Chris had an integral part of the installation and testing of the Counterweight Assist and Point Hoist systems. He lead a team of riggers in the theatrical grid through the shows creation process, keeping up with the ever changing artistic needs of the show and developing cue tracks.
Chris was there for the moving and operation of a large acrobatic system from New York to Madrid and then to Moscow and adapting to each unique the space. Responsibilities ranged from supervising over hire riggers during transfers, developing cue tracks, inspecting rigging & automation equipment and assisting other department with rope access necessities.
When the show changed from Tour to Resident Show, Chris was asked to fulfill these responsibilities for the Production and once again supervise the crew at the ARIA and hand the show over to it's new home & crew.
Chris provided Rope Rescue support and assisted in the preliminary development of the rescue policy for Technicians and Aerialists. In addition the installation of the rigging systems and the development of cue tracks, Chris was responsible for the maintenance of many of the acrobatic hardware that was exposed to the corrosive pool environment.
